Following a successful 'educational' in Fiji last year, the Women's International Travel Industry Alliance (WITIA) have had more members registering for the 'Hawaii educational' this September 15-19.
WITIA comprises of members from over 20 countries and this event is the annual opportunity for delegates to come together face-to-face rather than the typical email or internet.
"The educational is a great opportunity to meet members 'face to face' and whilst the internet is a great medium for our organisation, the annual gathering reinforces and fosters friendships and continued global networking in the industry" said Anne lsaacson, WITIA president.
The 5-day 'Hawaii Educational' aims to discuss global tourism issues and network whilst showcasing WITIA member's services, attractions and facilities. It will also serve to boost tourism in the flagging area, promoting tourist attractions, accommodation options and activities.
The Mayor of Hawaii will greet members and members will be able to take a tour of the Parker Ranch Historic Home, the Imiloa Astronomy Centre and Mana Loa Mac Nut factory, giving members a first hand experience and equipping them with knowledge to pass on to potential travellers.
"Given the current downturn in tourism in Hawaii, we hope our group visit and consequent interest will instil some confidence in the industry stakeholders."
