KUWAIT: Head of the Parliament''s Educational Committee Dr. Faisal AlÜMusallam has announced that students enrolled in private and foreign universities inside and outside Kuwait will receive their allowances by Thursday.
After a meeting with Undersecretary at the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Rasha AlÜSabah last Saturday, AlÜMusallam told local media that the committee has discussed the issue with officials from the ministry''s financial, legal and executive departments. He noted that the study allowance was delayed because the ministry had not yet received all the required data.
He added that the Council of Private Universities has provided the Ministry of Higher Education with the documents of 4,031 students, and that the ministry now has 1500 completed files for students studying abroad.
AlÜMusallam said that 1,300 students have already received their study allowances and that 4,200 more will receive theirs by the end of this week. He also praised the ministry''s efforts in acquiring and assembling the needed documents, urging the students to provide the ministry with any needed information.
