| 186 receive educational aid August 28, 2008 A RELIGIOUS school teacher who had to spend nearly RM5,000 to get his two daughters enrolled at university in July received some cash aid recently. "I wish to thank the state government and Yayasan Perak for the help," said Ahmad Said after receiving educational aid called 'Dermasiswa' from Bukit Gantang MP Roslan Shaharum recently. Ahmad, 51, received RM1,000 for each of his daughters Nur Adilah, 21, and Nur Afifah,18, who are now studying at Universiti Darul Iman in Trengganu and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, respectively. Salesman Ng Ai Fing, 50, from Taman Sungai Mas, accepted the RM1,000 aid on behalf of his son, Ng Qi Hwa, 21, who enrolled for an engineering course at Universiti Sains Malaysia last month. "I am only earning RM700 a month but with this aid, I feel relieved as everything is so costly nowadays," said Ng. Ng said that last year, his daughter Ng Shui Chen, 22, was admitted to Universiti Malaya but no such aid was received. Haji Ahmad and Ng were among 186 people from the Bukit Gantang parliamentary consti- tuency near Taiping who received educational aid worth RM1,000 each from the Perak Foundation.
