The current Strategy of Life-Long Entrepreneurial Learning has been welldeveloped to date, but more support for the country's educational institutions is necessary for entrepreneurial development to thrive in local communities, it was
announced last week at a public debate.
Representatives attended the debate from the Chamber of Commerce, the Montenegrin Employers Federation, the Employment Bureau and other organizations. The Directorate of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises organised the event.
"The overall objective is the development of entrepreneurial spirit through the
promotion of an entrepreneurial way of thinking, followed by effective actions", the Directorate announced.
The Directorate also said that the strategy would be implemented through the development of awareness regarding the importance of entrepreneurial education, and its newly acquired significance in the formal and informal education and evaluation systems in Montenegro.
All participants in the public debate agreed that the representatives of higher education must be more involved in the implementation of activities laid out in the action plan. They also emphasised that Montenegro was the first country in the Western Balkans to prepare a Strategy for Life-Long Entrepreneurial Learning, in order to assist the development of human resources, contribute to the creation of a competitive and dynamic economy capable of sustainable economic growth.
The strategy was developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Education and Science, employment and education bureaus, Employers Federation, centres for vocational education as well as nongovernmental organizations.
