CHINO HILLS, CA - On Aug 9, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) hosted an Education and Career Development Fair. The event, beholding the theme of "Escalating through Education," was held at the newly developing temple site here.
Approximately 80 high school and college students attended various presentations and workshops based on their academic level. Parents of many of the high school students were also in attendance. All participants went through four hours of workshops and presentations, which were then followed by the career and college fair.
The event commenced with a keynote speech on choosing the right career path and entrepreneurship by Sanjay Kucheria, CEO of Trinus Corporation. The students were then divided into their respective tracks of high school and college. The workshops for the high school track included 'Which College is Right for Me?,' 'Financial Aid and Scholarships,' 'How to Write Personal Statements, and 'The Application Process and Choosing a Major.' The college track included presentations on 'Jumpstarting your Career,' 'Resume Writing,' 'Interviewing Skills,' and 'Applying to Graduate Schools.'
The educational fair concluded with a college and career fair. Representatives from various fields of technology, health sciences, engineering, business and much more were on hand to answer all questions relating to their fields. There were also informational booths where students picked up brochures and information for colleges and universities.
